Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time again! BottleRock Napa Valley has announced the lineup for this year’s festival, taking place May 22-24, 2026 at Napa Expo.
UPDATE: Lorde’s 3rd full-length record, Solar Power, is coming out August 20th and can be preordered / presaved here. We’ve also got a 2022 tour for Lorde coming down the pike, so get yourself vaccinated if you haven’t already, and buy your tickets Monday, July 5th at 12pm local time!
Remember the immortal words of Kim Deal when she sang “Summer is ready when you are” a mere 28 years ago? Those words probably ring truer this year than ever before. Maybe because this is going to be a weird Summer where not everyone is going to be ready at the same time, but when you are ready for Summer, it’s going to be LIT AS FUCK. Not LIT AF. LIT AS FUCK. So lit that this week we didn’t have just one, but TWO singles about the impending Summer of hugs and sharing space with your friends again. “Pool Hopping” by illuminati hotties is a glorious piece of classic pop-punk that is perfect for blasting at your first barbecue in 15 months. And, dear God, I really can’t wait to eat with my friends again.

The very first article posted to Spinning Platters was March 25th, 2009. It was a diary of the first few days of my second visit to SXSW. You can read that here, and even look at a picture of me 29 year old me with Marnie Stern.
That means this little music blog that has evolved into a music, film, theater, and comedy blog, and has been around for more than a decade at this point. So, in order to commemorate this time, I reached out to every person that has ever contributed to the site to pull together a top 50 records of the first ten years of Spinning Platters. That would be between March 2009 and March 2019.
Not everyone got back to me. I even got a couple, “I don’t remember doing this” emails from people that only contributed a couple of articles. However, this is definitely a list that represents the tastes of everyone that has been part of this thing. Since 50 records is a lot to take in at once, I’m just going to give you 31-50 today. Only without any words about the record at all, just a video from that album. Coming soon will be 11-30 with more commentary, and 1-10 with even more commentary will be coming your way before Christmas. So without further adieu, here’s your list!
We arrived at Day Three of Outside Lands, commonly known as “Sunday” to the real world. There was definitely a different energy in the air within the park, as much of the crowd was unaware of the extent of the activity happening in Charlottesville, VA the day before, and you could kind of see that a lot of people were trying to muster up the motivation to be there. There was really only one person on this Earth capable of taking that feeling when humanity has let you down, and it seems like there is nothing left to look forward to — so we were damn lucky that he was booked to play at 12:15 on the Lands End stage. Yesterday brought us the news that every music nerd has been eagerly awaiting in the Bay Area—the lineup for the 10th edition of the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. High hopes were raised for this one, and I had a bit of a chat with the staff afterward to learn what we all thought of it.
