Keep Live Alive: SF Sketchfest & Noise Pop Open Their Archives

Before the COVID Virus decided to destroy life as we know it in the Bay Area, we were lucky enough to get to enjoy two of the best festivals the Bay has to offer: SF Sketchfest and Noise Pop. Both fests had banner years, and as a thank you to the venues that helped make them happen year after year, both SF Sketchfest and Noise Pop are opening up their rich archives of great shows. This gives you the opportunity to either relive these shows, or if you couldn’t make it, actually get to enjoy shows you missed, and all to raise money for these venues so they can reopen once the pandemic is contained, as well as other local charities!

SF Sketchfest is “renting” out their archives here, starting with their 2019 panel on Best In Show, featuring Ed Begley, Jr., Jennifer Coolidge, Christopher Guest, John Michael Higgins, Michael Hitchcock, Eugene Levy, Jane Lynch, Michael McKean, Catherine O’Hara, producer Karen Murphy, and moderator Kevin Pollak. They will be releasing another classic Sketchfest event every week, including Aparna Nancharla Michael Ian Black‘s Uptown Showdown, George Wallace in conversation with Patton Oswalt, and many more to come!

Noise Pop is presenting free streams of classic performances, as well as new performances from home under the label No Place Like Home. All they ask is for you to donate what you can. Tuesday, May 5th they will be streaming K. Flay, Finish Ticket, and Zelma Stone to benefit Bottom Of The Hill. On May 7th, they are bringing Rogue Wave, Spooky Mansion, and Meerna to you, benefiting Cafe du Nord. Next week brings us Built To Spill, Geographer, and more TBA. You can RSVP and get the link to stream these events, as well as find more information, at the Facebook page for these shows

Consider this your chance to alleviating the FOMO you’ve been experiencing missing these events when they were live! Stay safe, and have a laugh and a dance from home.
