Eleni Mandell is a fantastic singer songwriter from LA. Her fantastic storytelling skills call to mind early Suzanne Vega. David Dondero is a local singer songwriter, best known as being an early influence on Conor Oberst. Together, it’s one of the best double bills you will find in SF this summer.

Either way, this is going to be an awesome groovy art rock show, and rumor has it there are $2 drink specials to go along with that experimentation.

Looking for a little culture in Oakland? Look no further: Yoshi’s Oakland has a spectacular double bill running this Tuesday Night! Two amazing bands paying tribute to the French Gypsy street music of the 20’s. I highly suggest anybody looking for a good date show to buy tickets to this posthaste.

Desaparecidos, The Velvet Teen at The Regency Ballroom
Years ago, Desaparacidos were booked to play Bottom Of The Hill. On the way to the show, the band broke up. So, instead, their singer, a guy by the name of Conor Oberst, ended up performing a solo acoustic set instead. So, the folks of the Bay Area never got to see this noisy punk rock side project of Bright Eyes. At least, never until now! Happily, we will finally see this band play at long last.
