The Presets are alright. The real reason to go to this show is to see Dragonette- the amazing synth pop band from Canada is chock full of bubbly, bouncy hooks and beats, and will totally dust the headliner. Trust me!

LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, De La Soul at Shoreline Amphitheater
De La Soul and Public Enemy are both road warriors that have redefined what a live hip hop performance is like. Ice Cube and LL Cool J are lyrical legends and groundbreakers that have managed to bring hip hop to the masses without sacrificing, well anything. (Unless you count some less than credible acting gigs. Art doesn’t put food on the table.) Put it together, and you’ve got one of the best bills hitting the sheds this year!

Bjork at Craneway Auditorium
It took about two years for Bjork to finally do a full fledged tour for her Biophilia multimedia project. However, it was worth the wait, as she’s bringing to the stunning Craneway Auditorium a tesla coil, a bespoke pipe organ that accepts digital information, a pin-barrel harp, a midi-controlled gamelan-celesta hybrid, a pendulum-harp that harnesses the earth’s gravitational pull to create musical patterns and an Icelandic women’s choir as her back up band. This will be a mind blowing experience.
