Wednesday, March 10th

The Big Pink, A Place To Bury Strangers, IO Echo at Great American Music Hall, 8 PM

First of all, I’m pretty surprised that there are still tickets to this show. Not only do we have every bloggers favorite band, The Big Pink, doing their brand of radio friendly post-genre. We also have the latest dance rock from Mute Records, one of the finest labels around, and IO Echo, most famous for being the band that from the cell phone commercial with the song that never stops ringing in your head:

Experience Hendrix Tribute Tour: Billy Cox, Joe Satriani, Robert Randolph, David Hidalgo, Cesar Rosas, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brad Whitford, Doyle Bramhall II, Ernie Isley, Living Colour and Chris Layton at The Warfield, 8 PM

Thursday, March 11th

Manchester Orchestra, The Features, Biffy Clyro, O’Brother at Great American Music Hall, 7:30 PM

Some emo is terrible. And sometimes emo is amazing. Especially when the emo kids start listening to Motorhead. Manchester Orchestra listen to plenty of Motorhead. This band will be wonderful and aggressive, and you will sweat up a storm at this show.

A Sunny Day In Glasgow, Gold Medalists, Apopka Darkroom at Hemlock Tavern, 9 PM

Friday, March 12th

You Say Party! We Say Die!, Fake Your Own Death, Nylon Heart Attack at Bottom Of The Hill, 10 PM

How often do we get themed triple bills at Bottom Of The Hill? I think that they should call it Fridacide. But, yeah, YSP!WSD! are totally one of my favorite bands right now. Fast & loud canadian disco punk! And if you don’t believe me, you can read our review of the record!

Trainwreck Riders, Brothers Comatose, Kemo Sabe, Dead Westerns at Cafe du Nord, 9 PM

How about another theme night? This time old west? Should be pretty good, too.

Saturday, March 13th

Smokey Robinson at The Warfield, 9 PM

Proven fact: Smokey Robinson is one of the few classic Motown songwriters that’s still active. He’s a legend that still has his voice, and still knows how to write a classic. You need to see this guy.

The Adolescents, Youth Brigade, The Departed at Slim’s, 9 PM

Sunday, March 14th

Del McCoury Band, Poor Man’s Whiskey at Great American Music Hall, 8 PM

Speaking of legends, here’s another great musician celebrating more than 50 years as a working musician. He’s a bluegrass legend that hasn’t shown any signs of calming down.

Cro-Mags, H2O, Alpha and Omega, Wolves and Thieves at Thee Parkside, 8 PM

Monday, March 15th

Efterklang, Tartufi, VIR at Bottom Of The Hill, 8 PM

Danish experimental music is fun. Mostly because it has melody. This wonderful show is filled with bands whose names you cannot pronounce, but it will be great.

Tuesday, March 16th

VNV Nation at DNA Lounge, 8 PM

Get your electro-goth on. Everyone else in the bay area that owns an all black wardrobe at pale face make up will be at this show. In all seriousness, if you want to go to a show where everyone at the show will be elated to be at this show. Like a good crowd? This is your show.
