Jimmy Eat World at Oakland Metro Operahouse
Jimmy Eat World are amazing. They are one of the tightest live bands around, and it’s very rare for them to play clubs these days. Which means it’s kind of a tough ticket to get into this show. It will be worth it, as they are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their criminally underrated 4th record Futures. They will be performing this classic record beginning to end, and will close out the set with an encore of hits. And if you can’t find yourself with a ticket to this show, you can pick up the beautifully remastered version of this record that was released this week. (Their first two record, Clarity. and Static Prevails have also been re-issued on vinyl for the first time in ages. If you don’t own these, you are only hurting yourself.)

Sebadoh is one of the greatest bands of the indie rock era. Thurston Moore was lead guitarist for Sonic Youth. If you don’t know what Sonic Youth is, I may have to send you some records. Moore is touring with an amazing band that consists of other members of My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth. Anyways, this is going to be an amazing and loud evening. Bring earplugs.
