1.)    Black Messiah / D’Angelo
He. Is. Back. Words cannot adequately describe how great this album is.

2.)    St. Vincent / St. Vincent
Created in a galaxy far, far away. Ethereal. Harmonious. Haunting.

3.)    The Voyager / Jenny Lewis
Sweeter and lovelier than cookies from a Beverly Hills girl scout.

4.)    They Want My Soul / Spoon
Gorgeous songs. Britt at his finest.

5.)    Emma Jean / Lee Fields
2014 was tough a year. This one’s for you, President Obacco.

6.)    nikki nack / tUnE-yArDs
Merrill’s creativity knows no bounds.

7.)    Burn Your Fire for No Witness / Angel Olsen
Enthralling.

8.)    PHOX / PHOX
In love with Monica Martin’s vocals. And, there’s clapping!

9.)    Manipulator / Ty Segall
Marc Maron told me to turn it up to an 11.

10.)    Royal Blood / Royal Blood
UK boys working hard to resuscitate rock.

11.)    Run the Jewels 2 / Run The Jewels
Sharp. Abrasive. Killer Mike and El-P aren’t messin’ around.

12.)    Atlas / Real Estate
Just a beautiful album.

13.)    More Than Any Other Day / Ought
Good things come out of Canada. David Byrne, is that you?

14.)    Burnt Offering / The Budos Band
Funk does metal.

Frank Yankovic once sang that he didn’t want her, so you could have her. You may not want this playlist, but I made it for you anyway. I hope 2014 was good to you and that 2015 is even better.
