Win a VIP pass to SF MusicTech Summit XV

SF Music Tech Summit
The next SF MusicTech Summit is coming your way on May 20th. The price of admission is worth every penny but we’ve got a free ticket to give away to one lucky reader.

SF MusicTech Summit is not only the Bay Area’s largest, longest-standing, and most respected music tech conference, it’s in the same league with nationwide and worldwide gatherings such as MIDEM and SXSW Music. Year after year, it brings together the best and brightest from all areas of the music industry. Want in? We’ve got one pass to give away to a lucky reader – read on to find out how it can be yours.

A recent winner in SF Weekly’s annual “Best of San Francisco” Awards, the recipient of Best Music Biz Dog-and-Pony Show was accurately described as follows:

Part tech-geek confab, part self-promotion contest, and all good excuse to drink beer and eat brownies while talking to people you’ve never met before, the twice-annual SF MusicTech Summit provides a fascinating window into the tech side of today’s music industry. The highlight of each edition is usually the inevitable shouting match between tech whiz-kids who believe The Internet Rules All and rock codgers who wanna know where their fat royalty checks went.

Regardless of your opinion on the future of the music industry, and how advances in technology are impacting the business of everything, this is a conference where you’ll network, meet fascinating people from various backgrounds (entrepreneurs, code geeks, investors, veterans), and learn something new. To paraphrase: if you’re interested in music and how it relates to technology, this is a must-attend event.

Incubus’ Brandon Boyd was on hand to opine on success in the music business at a recent Summit. You never know who will stop by.

The 15th installment of SF MusicTech Summit will take place on Tuesday, May 20th, at San Francisco’s Hotel Kabuki. Tickets are currently $275 but luckily for you, as mentioned earlier, we have a pass to give away. To qualify, please leave a comment on why you’d like to attend. It doesn’t need to be too descriptive or extravagant. Just let us know your thoughts along with a Twitter handle, Facebook link, or email address so we can contact you with further details.

Finally, in an ideal world, our nerdy blog would have the funds to fly you out here and put you up in our fine city. Unfortunately we don’t have that kind of budget, so please make sure you either live in the Bay Area or plan on being here on May 20th.

Good luck. We’ll be announcing a winner on Tuesday, March 11th at (hopefully) 5:00 PM, PST – depending on how good wi-fi is at SXSW. If you can’t wait to get a deal on tickets, or aren’t the gambling type when it comes to contests, we’ve got another treat for you: use the code “platters” for a $25 discount on a ticket. Act fast; prices will continually increase as the event approaches.

Thanks for playing and, regardless, we hope to see you there.

  3. Hey Kara,

Would love to learn more about how spotify, pandora, myspace and sound cloud are opening accessibility of sound for musicians and DJs. As a publisher, I promote musicians on bruiseslikeblueroses.com, and I would like to learn how to optimize my efforts. I have begun to travel to the Bay Area by train regularly (currently on Amtrak returning) and this seems like a great event to participate in.

    Hope SXSW is awesome,
    Andrea
