Pet Shop Boys at The Warfield, 9 PM
The Pet Shop Boys have reached a point in there career where than can play 200 shows a year, and the crowd will be happen, just as long as they play “West End Girls.” Instead, they’ve opted to continue to put out inventive dance records and continue to challenge themselves as a live act as well. This tour is their most elaborate stage show yet. (Also appearing 9/23)

Pitbull’s current cross-over hit is currently being used to advertise the television program, So You Think You Can Dance. But he is greater than the one single. Manic Street Preachers at The Fillmore, 8 PM
The most interesting thing about Manic Street Preachers is best said on there Wikipedia entry:
“on 1 February 1995, lead vocalist Richey James Edwards disappeared from the Embassy Hotel at Bayswater Road in London after checking out at 7:00am. His car was found abandoned February 14, 1995 at theSevern View service station near the Severn Bridge, which has since its construction acquired notoriety for being a suicide spot. He was never seen again, although unsubstantiated sightings have been common, so much so that the band have even kept a percentage of the royalties aside should Edwards ever return. Richey Edwards was declared presumed dead on 28 of November 2008 by his family. The band comment that they respect their decision. Nonetheless, Edwards retains a special place in many fans’ hearts. The band was put on hold for six months and finishing the band was seriously considered, but with the blessing of Edwards’ family the other members continued.”
They are currently on the road promoting Journal For Plague Lovers, a record developed using leftover lyrics, making it the final collaboration with the original singer, at least until he appears again.

Fishbone are one of the few 2nd generation ska bands from America, and also one of the few that have stayed playing live, despite all trends. Living Colour are known to the majority of the world as the band that does “Cult Of Personality,” but are greater than just being a one hit wonder.

Rain Machine is Kyp Malone from the greatest band in America, TV On The Radio. His solo project contains a lot of elements of his main project, but with a little less noise and a bit more emotion. This is a can’t miss show.
I am so excited about The Zoopy Show. I hope the entire Spinning Platters gang makes it out to Oakland for that one!
