Glen Check, Love X Stereo, Rock N Roll Radio at Brick & Mortar Music Hall
Korean pop is huge every in the world except the US. Which is fantastic for us Americans, because then we can see some genuine world class superstars in a super tiny venue like Brick & Mortar Music Hall!
Skaters, Team Spirit, Panic Is Perfect at Bottom Of The Hill
Friday, March 21st
Berlin, Ownership at Bimbo’s 365 Club
Berlin were one of the most criminally underrated bands of the 80’s. They had a monster hit with the power ballad “Take My Breath Away”, but that’s only a small part of their sound. This is going to be an epic new wave dance party that will be perfect for anyone that wants to truly dork out.
Perfect Pussy, Wild Moth, Happy Driving at Rickshaw Stop
Saturday, March 22nd
St Vincent, Noveller at The Fox Theater – Oakland
Words can’t describe how good this current St Vincent tour is. It’s one of the most impressive pieces of performance I have ever seen by anyone. She has a total command of the stage, and is, simply put, blowing my mind right now. She’s as if somebody combined Prince, David Byrne, Marnie Stern, and Snow White into one singular musical superhero capable of ruling the world with her guitar and hypnotic stare.
Wakey! Wakey!, Jillette Johnson at Brick & Mortar Music Hall
Sunday, March 23rd
Death, Audacity at The Chapel
This veteran Detroit punk band has been riding high off the success of their documentary, A Band Called Death. These guys are amazing, and the live show has been fantastic! I highly recommend seeing these folks at The Chapel. It’s going to be great.
Monday, March 24th
Kraftwerk at The Fox Theater – Oakland
Wednesday, March 26th
Lorde, Lo Fang at The Fox Theater – Oakland
Probably the highest demand show of the year that isn’t Prince. And for good reason! Lorde is an brilliant songwriter, and only soulless people that can’t fathom the idea of a 16 year old genius seem to dismiss her.
