Dinosaur Jr, Henry Rollins, Pierced Arrows at The Fillmore
The groundbreaking, legendary Dinosaur Jr just can’t seem to shake this reunion. It feels like the original lineup of Dinsoaur Jr has been reunited longer than it was together in the beginning, which is kind of a bummer for Sebadoh fans. But, if you are a Dinsoaur Jr fan, this might be the show to go to. Not only do you get to hear their third album, Bug, beginning to end, but the great Henry Rollins will be interviewing the band live on stage.

Hubba Hubba Revue means burlesque and the art of the tease. Also performing are Meshugga Beach Party. Here’s the pitch: gleeful surf rock processed through a faux-Hasidic lens. Hilarity follows. Surf rock and Jewish rhythms go together like latkes and applesauce. You’ll find their schtick just as wholesomely delicious. ‘Tis the season.

Ozomatli are one of the greatest live bands in America. I can go on & on about the musical gumbo that is Ozomatli, but, in all actuality, the are just plain fun. There are few bands that elicit spastic dancing more than this amazing band. And on Saturday, they are treating the Bay Area to a matinee show for the kiddies, as well as a grown up show at night.
Lagwagon, Druglords of the Avenues, Heartsounds at Slim’s
Lagwagon. Yes. Good-natured overachieving melodic punk rock with one really tall guitar player and a tiny singer. Friendlier and more welcoming than a better-than-expected house party when you’re 22.
If punk rock from the Nineties were the 2010 San Francisco Giants, Lagwagon would be second baseman Freddy Sanchez:
upbeat, friendly without being cloying, and consistently overlooked ’cause some other people happen to be flashier.

Victims Family with Jello Biafra, Ty Segall, Adam Savage at Rickshaw Stop
First of all, any chance to hear Jello Biafra sing live is an evening to treasure. Add in local singer songwriter Ty Seagall and Adam Savage, most of TV’s Mythbusters and one of the funniest men alive, and you’ve got a solid night out. Even better? It’s a benefit for Rock Project SF, a school designed to get kids playing music.
