Marnie Stern is the great equalizer. She manages to bridge the (very wide gaps) between experimental music, punk rock, riot grrl, prog, and arena rock. She has the chops of Yngwie, the lyrical skill of Patti Smith, the melodic gift of Mary Timony, the creativity of Mike Patton, and the looks of a supermodel. She is the complete package, and this promises to be an amazing night out.

We got to talk to Kelli Scarr a few months ago, and it amazes me that she is both an immense talent that really needs to be heard from, and an all around good person. She’s on at 8, so you can either get there early, catch her set, and then go about the rest of your Friday Night, or you can stick around and catch a few surprises at this legendary SF venue.

Still mad about the right taking over the house, and all of the scary tea partiers actually winning stuff? This show looks like a good place blow of some of that anger. Mavis Staples is the legendary voice behind the Staples Singers, and was friends with Martin Luther King, Jr. Billy Bragg is the last remaining angry punker from England, and probably the smartest, too! This is a heavenly double bill, perfect to get the disillusioned left fired up again!

Cafe Tacuba are one of the most inventive bands in all of rock music. I have no idea what to expect from this rare, intimate solo performance by the lead singer, but since the man is capable of doing anything, I don’t think ticket purchasers will be disappointed at all.

Delorean are an excellent synth group from Spain that have been floating around for a little over a decade. They do bright and fun house music with a lot of pop shimmer.
