Hey folks… Sorry, but this is a short list this week. Even musicians and club owners need to take a holiday! But, if you really can’t deal with it anymore, here are a few outings you can make:
Twas the week before Christmas, and all throughout the Bay Area clubs, things are looking a bit sleepy. But, fear not! Because there is something high quality in the cards every night for the next 7 days, including a few rare performances by legends!
Tomorrow night (December 14th), at the newly-renovated John Colins in downtown San Francisco, DIG is hosting a one-time private event with a guest appearance from a major recording artist whose music has been featured on Jay Leno, the OC, Charmed, and Grey’s Anatomy – just to name a few. A reliable, anonymous tipster (yes, I actually have those believe it or not) has given me the details on who the surprise artist is. Read on to find out…

Angelic manty-dropper Sufjan Stevens makes his long-awaited return to the Bay Area this week.
Treasure Island has come and gone, but the Bay Area concert schedule isn’t slowing down for anyone! This week features shows by everyone from Aziz Ansari to Joey McIntyre (not on the same stage, sadly), as well as the annual return of the A-list Bridge School Benefit concerts. Look after the jump for more.
Still no idea how to get to where this picture was taken.
(This post is about a year old, but I’ve made some updates for 2010)
This weekend’s Treasure Island Music Festival has quickly become my favorite musical event of the year. There are no conflicting set times, so you can see everyone on the bill. The size of the festival is fairly small, so it’s easy to get around. The setting in the middle of San Francisco Bay is absolutely stunning. And something about all of these combine to keep the people going in a relaxed, pleasant mood that makes being there all the more enjoyable.
