We may be experiencing the biggest storm in decades in the Bay Area, however, that doesn’t mean you don’t need to rock.

Thursday, December 11th

tUnE-yArDs, Cibo Matto at The Fox Theater – Oakland

The great Merrill Garbus is FINALLY playing a show in Oakland. This is the place where she lives, and this is nearly the end of her tour for her impressive record Nikki Nack. Enjoy a fine evening of quirky pop music. And get there early, because Japan’s Cibo Matto is opening!

American Football, David Bazan at The Fillmore

Friday, November 12th

Jenny Lewis, Odessa at The Phoenix Theater

Jenny Lewis is the greatest living songwriter in America. Any argument you have against this is invalid.

Cat Stevens at The Masonic

Saturday, December 13th

Soundbox at Davies Symphony Hall – Backstage

Soundbox is a multimedia experiment being presented by the San Francisco Symphony. Members of the symphony will be playing pieces by 20th century composers such as Ravel, Monk, Reich, and more, while you walk through various different art installations that have been designed to integrate with the pieces being performed live. It’s going to be an amazing and trippy evening.

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Blowfly, Blag Dahlia at Oakland Metro Operahouse

Sunday, December 14th

Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas, Kera & The Lesbians, Summer Peaks at Slim’s

Ryan Adams & Jenny Lewis at The Masonic

Monday, December 15th

The Head & The Heart, Wild Cub at The Masonic

Tuesday, December 16th

Harry Shearer and Judith Owens at The Addition

Ned Flanders himself, Harry Shearer, will be doing Christmas songs with impressive folk singer Judith Owens at The Additions. How could this be bad?

Wednesday, December 17th

Animals As Leaders, Devin Townsend Project, Monuments at The Regency Ballroom

Instrumental thrash-meets-Meshuggahlike intensity, a brilliant combination of arpeggios, thrash, and atmospheric metal. (Jonathan Pirro)
